Patrick F. Smith
General Counsel and Director of Real Estate Closing Centers
Prior to joining TitleSouth in October of 2005, Mr. Smith was engaged in a private law practice in Birmingham, Alabama. His practice consisted primarily of residential and commercial real estate closings, title insurance defense litigation, real estate litigation and corporate and commercial law.
Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Auburn University and his Master of Law in Taxation (LLM-Taxation) and Doctor of Law (J.D.) from The University of Alabama School of Law. Before attending law school, he was a Certified Public Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. Smith is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars on
the topics of real estate law, real estate closings, and law office technology. A native of Lauderdale County, Alabama, he and his family are residents of Homewood, Alabama.
Richard A. Bailey, Jr.
Vice President of Title Operations and the company’s senior title insurance underwriter.
Richard joined TitleSouth when the company was formed as Vulcan Title in 1998. Prior to joining TitleSouth, Richard worked as a title researcher and underwriter for various title agencies in Mobile County and the Florida Panhandle. Richard is a member of the Dixie Land Title Association, and is active in the association’s activities and courses. Richard lives in Kimberly with his wife Cindy.
Brad Salvage
President of TitleSouth
Brad has served as President of TitleSouth since 2004. Prior to joining TitleSouth, Brad spent 11 years as President of another local title insurance company. Brad has over 30 years of experience in the commercial and residential real estate fields as an agent, broker and in the title insurance industry. He has been a member of the Birmingham Association of Realtors since 1973 and is a member of the Greater Birmingham Association of Homebuilders.
John H. Henson
Associate Counsel for TitleSouth’s three Real Estate Closing Centers in Birmingham.
Prior to joining TitleSouth as Associate Council in September 2007, Mr. Henson served as a part-time law clerk with TitleSouth and held an internship with the Alabama Attorney General’s office.
Mr. Henson holds the Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he served as a member of the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board. Mr. Henson also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Martin Methodist College, located in his hometown of Pulaski, Tennessee. His wife, Amy is an Office Administrator with RealtySouth. The Henson’s live in Inverness.
Sandy F. Johnson
Associate Counsel at
Shelby County Closing Center
Sandy attended the University of Montevallo and Birmingham School of Law. She began her legal career in Montevallo, Alabama in 2006, where she practiced law as a solo practitioner. Mrs. Johnson’s private practice focused on real estate closing services. Mrs. Johnson joined TitleSouth as Associate Counsel in November 2007. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Montevallo in 2002, Mrs. Johnson elected to attend Birmingham School of Law. In 2005, she received her Juris Doctorate, finishing in the top 15% of her class. While in law school, she obtained various honors. Mrs. Johnson is dedicated to her community, and serves as Treasurer of her local volunteer fire department. Mrs. Johnson’s husband, Keith, is a career firefighter. The Johnsons live in Montevallo, Alabama with their daughter, Emily.
Shelly Miller
Account Executive
Prior to joining TitleSouth in 2006 Ms. Miller worked for 13 years in mortgage banking as a processor, loan originator, loan servicer, closer and branch manager. She also worked as a land acquisition agent for Jefferson County Environmental Services which acquired right-of-ways for sewer easements before she became a Title Account Manager in 1995.
Ms. Miller prides herself in using her past experience and knowledge to give our Customers “ Exceptional Customer Service”.
Gayle Mason
Account Executive
Gayle, a native of Birmingham, joined TitleSouth in March 1999. Gayle attended Jefferson State Junior College and has worked in the fields of marketing and management for over 20 years. Gayle is active in the real estate community. She is a member of the Birmingham Board of Realtors, Greater Birmingham Home Builders Association, Women’s Council of Realtors and Business Networking International. With over ten years of experience in the title insurance industry, seven of those with TitleSouth, Gayle credits her successes in the business to hard work, dedication and always providing the most exceptional service she and her co-workers can provide.
Gayle lives in Hoover with her husband, Bob, and their dog, Angel. Gayle and Bob have two daughters, married with families. Gayle’s is a grandmother of two and in her spare time, enjoys painting and monogramming.
